Qualification Description

In sectors (i.e., education, training, corporate, government), a wide range of activities are designed to improve the capabilities of people. Capabilities comprise not only the technical skills and knowledge people have, but also their attributes, attitudes and behaviours. Activities can be designed to deliver specific skills in a short period of time to meet an immediate need, or designed to achieve broader requirements over a longer period. Currently, there is a need for strategic management approach to learning and development as an integral part of workforce planning and education administration. The approach includes planning, integration, delivery and evaluation of learning and development to inform organisation’s performance. Individuals in these roles generate and evaluate complex ideas. They also initiate, design and execute major learning and development functions within an organisation. Typically, they would have full responsibility and accountability for the personal output and work of others.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply highly specialised knowledge and skills in the field of organisational learning and capability development. Gamma Education & Training uses variety of assessment methods to gain evidence of students’ learning. Using a range of assessment methods helps produce valid decisions and recognises that students demonstrate competence in a variety of ways. A range of assessment methods used are outlined in the table below.

  • Generally, more applicable to the assessment of knowledge evidence.
  • Assessment could be by written or oral questioning, conducting interviews and questionnaires.
  • Questioning could also be based in a case study
Direct observation
  • Assessed in real time in the workplace.
  • Assessed in a simulated off-the-job situation that reflects the workplace.
Product based methods
  • Structured assessment activities such as reports, displays, work samples, role plays, and presentations.
Portfolio
  • A purposeful collection of work samples of annotated and validated pieces of evidence, compiled by the learner.
  • Evidence could include written documents, photographs, videos or logbooks.
Third-party evidence
  • Third-party evidence is additional evidence presented to assessors to support a candidate’s claim of competence. This could include reports from supervisors, colleagues and/or clients, testimonials from employers, work diaries, evidence of training.

Previous Recognitions

Students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications via credit transfer. Alternatively, if the student has significant manager-level experience in organizational learning and capability development, the student may be eligible for recognition of prior learning (RPL). Since credit transfer and RPL are granted for individual unit of competency, any grant of course credit or RPL will affect course fees and duration of the course and student visa.

  • 400 hours (5 hours per week for 80 teaching weeks)

Assessment Policy

All students are provided two (2) assessments attempts. After two failed attempts, the student will be charged for assessments.

Refund Policy

AQF Qualification Award

The Qualification will be given to students within 30 Calendar days after the student submits their last assessment. Students successfully completing eight (8) units of competency will be awarded a certificate and Record of results for BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) (CRICOS Course Code 105408C). Overseas students who will complete less than eight (8) units of competency will receive a statement of attainment.
